Lunches October 31st - November 4th

I am glad that October is over. I was getting a little tired of Halloween lunches. Boogs' lunches are based on the story we read at bedtime the previous evening. To see past weeks of lunches, click on the label at the end of this post.

National Geographic for Little Kids (maze)
Last Halloween lunch. Jack-o-lantern pizza & applesauce,  hotdog finger,  creepy mouth snowpea with almonds & tomatoes,  marshmallow Peep ghost and yogurt.

The Hungry Kitten
This book was Boogs' reading homework this week.  Boogs' lunch included a cat & a dog corn tortilla with cheese, broccoli/asparagus veggie pancake (under corn tortilla), boiled egg kitten, strawberries, mini rice cakes, and yogurt.

The Going To Bed Book
Boogs insisted on bedtime stories after trick-or-treating. It was already more than an hour past his bedtime so I grabbed the two shortest books I could find to read. He loved Sandra Boynton books when he was little. In his lunch: rising Babybel moon with marshmallow & pretzel barbell, strawberry stars, salad with cucumber boat, and cheese sleeping on a sandwich bed. Boogs looked at this and said, "That is me in the bed dreaming about rocking in the boat and looking at the stars."
Iguanodon by Michael Goecke
Boogs wanted a lunch about Iganodon facts. So here they are: Plant eater salad & sesame twigs, tall as a giraffe cheese, heavy as a hippo ham, Iguanodon cheese & cereal bar, and fossils have been found in North America, Europe, &   Africa applesauce.

How Will We Get to the Beach?
In this story, a mama wants to go to the beach but she also wants to take along too many things to carry on her bicycle. She has to try several different forms of transportation to make it to the beach with: la tortuga, la sombrilla, el libro de cuentos, la pelota y su bebe. In Boogs' lunch today: a pb&j turtle sandwich, a yellow banana umbrella (it says "Yay! It is early release day!), a pita chip book of stories, an orange ball, a marshmallow baby, and a salad.

  9. I'm wondering how you come up with all the ideas. I try so hard and just can't come up with this kind of creative thing with food.

  10. Thank you for all of the lovely comments. I used to be a Stampin' Up demonstrator. I think I have just transferred my love of creating in paper (scrapbooking/cardmaking) to my son's food.
