Today's Lunch

Boogs asked to read this book and make a lunch out of it today. Bento Blog Network's next technique of the week is homemade picks, so I added a bee pick, a butterfly pick and a flower pick to the lunch.
The Crunching Munching Caterpillar by Sheridan Cain

Boogs new joke: "Did you eat all of the olives?" I told him I did not eat all of them. He rolled his eyes at me and said, "You don't get it, Momma. I said Did you eat OLIVE the olives! It is a joke. Good one, huh?"  I had to agree that is was a good joke. Boogs made it up all by himself. 5-year-olds are so much fun!

  1. Super duper cute! You should upload your photos larger cause they are so cute! We will have a book theme for bentos sometime in 2012, so you will be able to link again.

  3. That is impressive for a five year old!! For my kids, a "joke" typically means saying their current favorite silly word and then laughing. As always, I love your story themed lunches!

  4. Julie - he comes up with jokes all the time. He has had a love for words, poems, sayings, and stories since he was little. I posted about my favorite joke on Oct. 6th. He told me an incredible story that I posted on July 13th. Maybe he will grow up to be some kind of writer.
