Labor Day Weekend

Whew! We had a busy weekend visiting with friends we have not seen in a while. Boogs is usually in bed by 7:30. We had not planned on keeping him up way past his bedtime three nights in a row, but it happened and he was a trooper.

Saturday was a beautiful day, plenty of sunshine and blue sky. When I mentioned what a beautiful day it was, my husband said, "It is always a beautiful day here. We need some ugly days filled with a lot rain." That is true. We spent most of Saturday with friends at the Lakeway Resort & Spa. It was shocking to see how low the water level was in Lake Travis. But it was wonderful to hang out with friends that we had not seen in years.
Boogs and his Daddy had a great time playing in the pool! It was nice to cool down with a bit of ice cream. Yum!
Boogs must have gone down this slide 25 times. He loved it.
We spent Sunday with friends at their house. They have a game room filled with all kinds of pinball and video games. Boogs likes to play the slot machine when we visit. He also insists that he has to wear this Hawaiian shirt each time we go to their house because, "They have a pool and this is my pool party shirt." Boogs is such a cutie.
We were in the pool most of the afternoon. I think Boogs is part fish.
We even had time for cooking and crafting on this long weekend.
Now we are ready to face week 2 of school. I hope Boogs will enjoy the coming week more than he did his first week. Our Story Themed Lunches have started back up with the new school year. Be sure to check them out HERE.

  1. What a lovely place, loving that pool and slide :-)

  2. I think I could cope with all that poolside time. Love Boogs pool party shirt. Very cool.

    1. Thanks, Cheryl. He is pretty funny about that shirt. He won't wear it anywhere unless there will be a pool nearby because it is his Pool Party Shirt.

  3. What a great weekend, sun, family and friends - what more could you ask for. I hope Boogs soon settles back into school life, sometimes it takes a while. Thanks for linking up and sharing with Country Kids.

    1. Thanks, Fiona. It is slowly getting better.

  4. My kids love water slides so I can see them having a ball there too
