Sold sign

Boogs helped our realtor put on the "SOLD" sign. We won't close for 2 1/2 weeks. I will be keeping my fingers crossed until the actual day of signing.

My Little Charmer

We went to Chipotle restaurant today. Boogs told the lady fixing his burrito bowl that it looked scrumptious. When I was paying, he waved his hand to get her attention and said, "Excuse me. Thank you for the extra sour cream. My bowl will be delicious, just like I like it. Thanks a lot!" The manager thought he was so cute and polite, Boogs got his burrito bowl for free. I always knew there was a payoff to nagging him about his manners.

Pending House Contract

Our current house has a contract pending on it. This means no house showings while we wait to see if the sale will go through. What a relief to take a break from having a spotless house. I let Boogs play with some of his toys in the living room and leave them out all day long. He has not been able to do that for a couple of months.

New House Update

We went by the new house on Saturday, 2/19. The builder asked us to go to the model home and get hard hats to wear whenever we want to do a walk-through. We both looked SOOOOO attractive in those hats. Boogs stayed at the model home with one of the sales people while we wandered through the house. I can't believe how quickly it is progressing. The roof is on, the windows are in, and you can tell what each room is. Our current house has a contract pending and we are ready for May to get here so we can move into the new house.

Boogs' 1st T-ball Practice

We signed Boogs up for t-ball with a group of kiddos from his preschool class. On the way to the field, we were talking about baseball with Boogs. He told us he only wanted to be the batter person and not anything else. He also said that you have to run to the bases after you hit the ball, "but if someone is in your way you just have to run the other direction." He had his first practice this past Saturday. It was so cute watching the 4 and 5-year-olds practice.  The coach had the kids run around the bases and yell out the base name as they stepped on it. When all the kids got to home plate, he called out a base and asked them to point to it. It was pretty funny watching them point in all different directions. It was a good practice session - stretching, running bases, catching, throwing, batting, and of course the team cheer.

New House Progress

I went by the new house on Wednesday and Saturday. It is really starting to look like a house. The walls are going up and the roof is starting to take shape. We are trying to take a photo from the same spot each week so we can do a time lapse for the whole house build.

Two Days in Texas

I took these pictures two days apart, Feb. 4th and Feb 6th. What a difference, from freezing weather to 70 degrees in 48 hours. They always say if you don't like the weather in Texas, stick around for a little while and it will change.

Observations by Boogs

Boogs has been giving me an earful of interesting information this week. I wrote down a few things he said. His observations make me smile.

Superfinder is back. He is Boogs’ made-up super hero. This week I learned that “Superfinder has a sidekick robot named Superdog. Superdog can crack where bad robots are standing with his bark. The bad robots fall into the middle of the earth and melt.”

“If you have a very bad inspection (infection) you have to go to the hospital.”

“When I get a guitar and start playing, we will have to soundproof my room.”

“Telephones came after that old-time tap tap tap way to send messages.”

Boogs was a Buddy Buck instant winner at the grocery store. He got to go pick out a prize at the customer service desk. He chose a bowl and spoon set with the HEB Buddy character on it. He asked me what the sticker on the bottom of the bowl was for. I told him it was to identify the bowl and then read it to him. I read that it was made in China. He yelled out in a shocked voice, “What? Made in China! Then I can’t lick the bowl. It has that bad Chinese paint.”  So we had a discussion about food-safe products.

“I love licking bowls, but in a glass the bottom is too far away from your tongue to lick it. My favorite thing to lick out of bowls is pudding.”

Boogs – Can solid gold move?
Me – Only when it is heated into its liquid form.
Boogs – King Midas could make solid gold move. He took old milk and made it gold milk. His was liquid gold.

“Remember in the old days and we didn’t try to sell our house? Now we have a lot of meetings. I miss that.”

Missing Canadian Snow

Once it was daylight, Boogs was not impressed with the Texas snow.

Look what happened overnight! Snow in Texas!

We went for a walk in the snow before sunrise.

Boogs found some cat prints to follow.

All bundled up.

Little Kid Stilts

I bought a pair of little-kid stilts, or what Natural Earth Farm sells as "branch walking blocks", for Boogs. I bought them for Christmas, but then forgot about them. It was 80 degrees outside on Monday, so we took the stilts on our walk to the mailbox. Boogs had a hard time with them. He kept forgetting to keep the rope tight when he took a step. He got a little bit better the more he used them. I think these will be great for his balance and coordination. He seemed to have a lot of fun with them. He really liked it when the big kid (age eleven) across the street said they were cool and wanted to try them out.
Look at him go!
Oops! Lost my balance.

Boogs took this picture.

Boogs looked at this page while I was adding the pictures. He wanted me to tell Grandmaman he is having fun, but he misses you and loves you.

My Sweet Husband

Yesterday, when I was working out at the gym, I stopped to talk to a couple of the other ladies there. One woman asked if it was possible for her 45-year-old husband to be going through a mid-life crisis. The other two of us laughed when we both said,"YES" at the same time. I jokingly asked the lady if she had seen my husband working out in the gym, his "mid-life crisis" resulted in him becoming a bodybuilder at the age of 42. The woman said she knew my husband. He gave her some tips on how to eat better for quicker weightloss. She then went on to tell me how highly my husband speaks of me. He told her that he is proud of the way I have gotten into shape, what an excellent mother I am, and how beautiful I am inside and out. This woman was almost in tears when she was saying this to me. She said she wished after 18 years of marriage that her husband would feel that way about her. Wow! I did not know my husband says these things about me to other people. I have felt truly lucky to have met and shared my life with my husband for the past 10+ years. He is an amazing man, husband, and father.
