Summer vacation time! We decided to go back to Belize. My husband and I went on a scuba diving trip to Belize in 2017. We loved diving there and wanted to share it with Boogs.
We invited one of the Jboys on this trip. It was the first time J2 had been on a plane since he was a baby. Our flight from Dallas to Belize City was delayed, we were able to grab lunch and relax in the American Airlines Admiral Club while we waited. Not a bad way to kill time. We ended up missing our original flight from Belize City to San Pedro. The airport staff was amazing and had us on a flight 15 minutes after we landed.
Boogs was asked to sit in the co-pilot seat on the little plane from Belize City to San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, BZ. Eight years ago, I sat in that same spot on the way back from San Pedro.
The water is such a pretty color near San Pedro.
We were ready for new adventures.
There are not very many cars on Ambergris Caye. You have to rent a golf cart to get around the island.
We stayed at View the Blue, the same house my husband and I rented last time. We rented the entire house this time, last time we only rented the top floor. It was nice to have the boys in their own space. You have to drive three miles past the end of the paved roads to get to the house. The area has grown up quite a bit, many houses have been built in recent years. Now, there are street lights along the dirt road.
They boys took the two bedroom, two bath downstairs floor. My husband and I took the two bedroom, two bath top floor.
We unloaded our baggage and then headed into town for a grocery run. We enjoyed the pool for a couple of hours and then went to bed early.
It really is a pretty view out to the ocean.
We had a great first day of vacation.
