Seventh Anniversary

Today is my 7th wedding anniversary. My husband and I have been together for over ten years. Wow, the time has gone by so fast. My photo scanner is not working and I don't have very many early pictures on my computer. Here is one of the few wedding pics I can access right now. I am such a lucky woman to have found such a wonderful man.

Egg Carton Dump Truck

Boogs really was not in the mood to pose for this picture. We took it the morning after all of the paint had dried. He just wanted to play with his new truck.                              
This was a cute craft project using a styrofoam egg carton. I can't remember which website I got the idea from, probably the Crafty Crow. Before we began painting the pieces, Boogs and I read a couple of books about big trucks. These helped him get a few ideas about what colors he wanted to use.

Boogs liked painting the pieces and helping me put it together, but he liked painting himself even more.

He said, "Look Momma, I am doing face painting!" He was so pleased with himself.

Then it got a bit messy. Boogs is making this face because I told him he would have to sleep like that. He did not think it would be such a good idea. We love making messes at our house.

  

Balloon Pump

While at the grocery store last week, I made an impulse by of a bag of balloons with an air pump. Boogs loves balloon animals. So I figured we would try it out. There aren't any pictures of our balloon animals because nothing ended up looking like anything recognizable. I am not sure what that thing on his arm is. Boogs tried out the balloon pump, too. So cute...he puffed up his cheeks while pumping the air into his balloon. He did that every time he used it. His favorite thing to do was push the balloon off the pump when it was almost filled up so that it would fly around the room. This kept us entertained for quite a long time.

Last Swim Lesson

Boogs had his last swim lesson until probably September. We are going to try and take him swimming once a week to keep up his skills. He had "clothesline day" for his last swim class. The kids were asked to wear regular clothes and shoes in the pool. This is supposed to give them confidence to know they can swim with regular clothes on if they fall in the water. It was kind of funny to watch him swimming around in Crocs and denim shorts. He has really come a long way as a swimmer this semester.

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a fairly quiet Memorial Day Weekend. Friday night, we had two friends, ages 4 and 2, spend the night. Whew! I thought they would never go to sleep. On Saturday, I went to my 8 am yoga class and then went for a four mile walk/run. When I got home, my husband went to his posing practice session for his upcoming bodybuilding competition. He came home for lunch and then went to the gym for his workout. It was a calm day. We spend the rest of Saturday just hanging out at home. Sunday morning, Boogs was up at the crack of dawn. I put him in the stroller and walked to a park about 1.5 miles from our house. We stayed at the park for almost two hours. It was not even 9 am when we got back home. We went out for a family breakfast, ran errands, then went to Veteran's Memorial Pool for an afternoon swim. I swam with Boogs then sat in the sunshine reading a book. While Boogs was swimming with his Daddy, everyone had to get out of the pool. I don't know if it was poo or vomit that caused the pool evacuation but I was not going to go back in. It took about 30 minutes to reopen the pool. I never went back in. Yuck! Boogs is becoming a good little swimmer. He swam with and without his lifejacket, but preferred to have it on. I wish the pool would let kids use swim rings. Here are a few pool pics.

Superhero Robot

Boogs decided he wanted to make a robot out of "some of our recycled junk". He had a good time choosing which boxes, tubes, bottles, and material to put on his robot. After we got the robot assembled, he  wanted to have it wear clothes to look like a frog. It took quite a bit of explaining for me to understand his plan. So we gave the robot a green felt shirt. Then he wanted a metal cape for the robot. He found some gray felt and decided that would be okay to use as a pretend metal cape. When the frog/superhero/robot was complete and dry, Boogs took him all over the house and backyard for rescue missions.

Springwoods Park

We love Springwoods Park because it is always so shady. There are two playscapes, a volleyball court aka sandbox, tennis courts, picnic tables, soccer field, walking trail, and lots of squirrels to chase. We had a playdate there last week and Boogs had a good time. One of the kiddos we were with kept knocking over Boogs' sand castle. So Boogs said, "I like Z and we get along when we run around at Little Gym, but not too much when I am trying to work in the sand. Now he bothers me."
