Photographer's Pictures of the House

Jon Mercado took photographs of our house for our decorator's (Heather Brown of Trueinteriors.net) website. Heather started working with us on the house shortly after we signed to have it built. She went with me to pick out stone, brick, tile, light fixtures, stain color, faucets, and everything else that went into decorating the house. We were lucky to have found such a wonderful decorator to work with and so impressed with the results. The pictures turned out really well. We love our new house!

We have couches!

Last week, our couches arrived. The patio furniture is back outside. Now, we are only missing the living room chair and two cozy chairs for the sunroom area. Feels like decorating it is finally coming to an end.

Bed

We finally received the rest of our bed frame for the bed in the master bedroom. We need to add a wall hanging behind the headboard and then this bedroom will be finished.

More Decorating

We are getting closer to being finished with setting up the house. During this past week the drapes were hung on the back porch, our bed posts came in, my craft bookcases came in and were put in place, the pool table FINALLY (after 3 attempts and 6 weeks) got put together, art was hung in the gameroom, and some other decorative pieces were hung. Here are a few more pictures:
Outdoor drapes.

Half of gameroom.

Other half of gameroom. I could not get a good picture because the flash kept reflecting in the mirrors.

Ink drawings of old downtown Austin and my husband's grandfather's radio.

Man-cave bathroom featuring a replica of the mask Ken Dryden wore from 1975 - 1979 while playing for the Montreal Canadiens.
Small sitting area in gameroom.
This is in the entry. I have not decided if I like it. There are going to be 2 candle wall scones layered over the reflective circles. I will withhold judgement until I see it completed.

Theater Room Curtains

The curtains for our theater room, I mean "my husband's theater room", were installed today. The room looks A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Our decorator had us wait downstairs while the curtains were installed so that she could do a big reveal.
First reaction to seeing the room with curtains.
The curtains count down like the beginning of an old movie.
Soon, the speakers will be painted to match the wall.

Dining room

One more picture of yesterday's progress. This is the almost finished dining room.

Boogs' playroom storage/cabinets came in yesterday afternoon. I know what I am going to be doing this weekend. I can't wait to put these together and then organize his toys. It is long overdue!

House Decorating Progress

Finally our house is starting to look livable. Our decorator came over today and helped hang drapes, hang pictures, and put accessories up. She brought the bedding for the master bedroom and guest room. Our living room couches are on backorder so we put the patio furniture in the living room to have a place to sit. We are still waiting for the bed posts and rails to come in for our bed and a few other things, but at least after today we feel like progress has been made. Here are a few pics of todays efforts, but first a reminder of a couple of weeks ago.

The back porch was stained this week. It looks good with the stone. Here's the star in front of the grill.
